I will declare Your Name to my brothers. I will praise You amid the congregation. You who fear Adonai, praise Him! All Jacob’s descendants, glorify Him! Revere Him, all you seed of Israel (Psalm 22:23 TLV).
Psalm 22 is the first part of a trilogy of Psalms, covering chapters 22, 23, and 24 prophesying the first coming of Yeshua, what is now (between), and in the future, His second coming. So important, Yeshua quotes the opening of chapter 22 from the Cross stating,“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Likewise, 22:23-25 speaks of Messiah’s first coming (incarnation).
These passages form an excellent result of what is stated in the previous verses. “Deliver me!” begins verse 21, and “Save me!” in verse 22. Of this, we are reminded that we are called to spread the message of an evangelist by “declaring” His Name to our brothers (our Jewish people). As if that is not enough, this passage is immediately followed by this declaration, in the second part of verse 23, that “… I will praise You from within the Assembly!” The “Assembly,” in Hebrew, is Kahal (Kuf-Hey-Lamed) which is from a similar word, Shoresh meaning “voice,” In Hebrew.
