All over the world, there were the usual New Year’s Eve parties and celebrations as 2025 was ushered in. Here in Israel, we mark time by the number of days the hostages have been in Hamas’ hands; 460 as of today.
Recently Hamas released a video of a young woman hostage and the reality of their intense suffering once again pierced the heart of the nation afresh and the heartbreaking cries of the families rang out throughout the Land. Bring them home now! How long O Lord?
The talks for the release of the hostages and accompanying ceasefire are ongoing and intense and there are constant conflicting reports on what is being discussed. As soon as we get hopeful, something happens and there are bigger gaps. There seems to be great pressure being applied to come to an agreement before the inaguration of President Trump. May it be! May we close out this very difficult year with a homecoming of our dear hostages. Only then will this nation begin its restoration process.
