Jewish Evangelism - Isaiah 53 - Part 5

Isaiah 53:8 Because of oppression and judgment He was taken away. As for His generation, who considered? For He was cut off from the land of the living, for the transgression of my people - the stroke was theirs.

This is in agreement with Daniel 9:26a Then after the 62 weeks Mashiach will be cut off and have nothing. The evidence of Isaiah 53 is starting to pile up. As I said before, the rabbis want to deny that this is talking about Messiah Yeshua. They believe these prophesies all match because of some great conspiracy theory on the part of the New Testament writers. And if Isaiah 53 stood alone, maybe we could stretch our imagination enough to believe it is a conspiracy theory. To believe in a conspiracy theory takes much more faith than believing the plain truth. But could Yeshua's diety be the product of a conspiracy theory?

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword - piercing right through to a separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

We believe the Bible is consistent. God refers to the Scriptures as His witness. It was written beginning with Moses and ending with the New Covenant writers some 1,500 years later. These 40 writers did not know each other, nor did they know entirely what the others wrote, but they are amazingly consistent. So, who are you going to believe, some long deceased rabbis or your own heart and mind?

Rabbi Trail: I was asked yesterday, "Why didn't the rabbis believe in Yeshua?" The answer is complex. First, some did believe. Others had erroneous expectations of the Messiah. They were expecting Mashiach Ben David (Messiah the Son of David, the reigning king) and the got Mashiach Ben Yoseph (Messiah the Son of Joseph, the suffering servant).

The rabbis contemplate, through Talmudic writings, the duel nature of Messianic prophecy and come to the conclusion that there must be two messiahs, and even more. I've heard that in the Talmudic dialogue, one rabbi proposes (and I'm paraphrasing), "What if there is only one Messiah Who comes twice?" Sadly, he is immediately voted down by the others. Babylonian Talmud: Sanhedrin 98 contains an extensive discussion of Messiah, the Son of David. End RT.

Isaiah 53 prophesies the suffering servant of the first coming, along with Zechariah 9:9 (riding on a donkey) and Micah 5 (born in Bethlehem). However; Zechariah 14:9 (King over all the earth), Daniel 7:13,14 (coming in the clouds) speaks of the victorious king of the second coming.

To miss all of this is astonishing. There must be "blind eyes" Isaiah 29:10a For Adonai has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep, and has shut your eyes. (This verse is referenced in Romans 11:8.) Please agree with me in prayer for the light of truth to shine in dark places.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 And even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so they might not see the light of the Good News of the glory of Messiah, who is the image of God.

Let's pray that the little "g" "god of this world" will be defeated. 2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Messiah.
