We left off last time with God speaking through His prophet Haggai in 2:9 "I will fill this Temple with glory and the glory of this latter Temple will be greater than the former." This "greater glory" is tied to the giving of the Holy Spirit. Yeshua made this statement on the last day of Sukkot:

John 7:3-39 On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Yeshua stood up and cried out loudly, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture says, 'out of his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'" Now He said this about the Ruach, whom those who trusted in Him were going to receive; for the Ruach was not yet given, since Yeshua was not yet glorified.

The last day, the great day of the Feast is called Hoshanah Rabba. Yeshua makes this awesome proclamation about, living water. "Living water" is that water which gives life. New life is also called "born again" life. Ask any scientist and he will tell you, all life depends on water. Born again life depends on living water. The "living" or "life giving" water (of the Holy Spirit) will be poured into the lives of those who believe (have faith) in Yeshua. These are those who hunger and thirst for more of the presence, power and Spirit of God.

Is it just coincidence that we see this recurring theme in relation to Sukkot? The theme of which I am speaking is this ... God promises to pour out His Spirit in revival on Sukkot. And He commands that we be joyful as we celebrate this gift. To answer the question directly, it is not a coincidence. God desires to ignite something in our hearts during this season that brings a fresh vision, and moreover a longing for more of God, more of His Spirit. We want more, God!

Sukkot is on God's calendar every year because He wants to birth something new in our hearts.

Rabbi Trail: Ever wonder why the women among us typically lead those who are more sensitive to the things of the Spirit. Don Finto explained it to me once. He said that women are created for birthing. Any time God wants to birth something new, He does it through women. The move of the Spirit is essential to new life. End RT.

We cannot be satisfied or content just to live ordinary lives. "Life as usual" is never the choice of the child of God. During the Feast of Sukkot, God awakens in us a vision for a life that requires The Living Water that produces Holy Spirit Life; not only to renew and refresh us, but also living water that flows through us to bless others.
