Keeping the established ways

Psalm 25:10 "All Adonai's ways are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies." (TLV)

In Hebrew, this verse starts with the term Kol-Arkhot which is translated all paths. The word "paths" does not do the Hebrew justice. The word Arokh (used here in the plural) means a set method or prescribed way.

In Judaism, we have the Shulchan Aruch (meaning "set table") which is the most widely consulted Code of Jewish Law. It was written in Israel in the city of Safed (aka "a city on a hill" spoken of by Yeshua in Matthew 5:14 and is visible from where the Sermon on the Mount was preached by Yeshua) by Yosef Karo in 1563 and published in Venice in 1565.

God's established (set) ways are all described in the two words that follow His name, Khesed and Emet". These words translate commonly as "lovingkindness" and "truth". An amplified translation would be "grace" and "eternal truth".

The next word is Natzar meaning "watch, guard, or keep" and it is quite closely connected to Yeshua who is called the BRANCH (Isaiah 60:21), a "Netzer" (a different Hebrew word is used in Zechariah 6:12). This is also the meaning of the name of the city of Nazareth, and those who are Nazarites.

Lastly, we have in Hebrew Brit and Ad meaning "covenants and testimonies". This is what we are keeping. So we find this significant verse leads us into obedience to follow God's established ways and in doing so, we honor His covenant and provide Him with testimonies. What's not to love?
