Refined by Fire

Life came to a halt as I traversed through what appeared to be a barren desert. I could no longer change my circumstances by my will and dint of effort. My back and heart limited my physical activity; my emotions robbed me of peace and my ability to cope. I could no longer do what I wanted to do. I found myself in utter darkness where no one could reach me, though many good-hearted friends certainly tried. My only answer was God; only he could deliver me. So it was in the desert he had me ... I was alone in a dark, desolate place with him.

That's an extract from page 20 of my book Refined by Fire, that describes my journey with God after our son Samuel was killed in a tragic housefire.

Have you ever been in that place, that dependence on God? You too can find treasures in darkness as God reveals beauty in pain and brings redemption from sorrow. Discover hope and renewal in the heart-touching story of our family who were Refined by Fire.
